A Canadian National Freight Train derailed in West Chicago, causing quite the cleanup for local crews.
According to the Associated Press, a Canadian National train derailed around 8am on Monday at an intersection with Metra UP-W tracks.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, multiple cars derailed, but the train was not carrying hazardous substances at the time of the accident.
Metra Alert UP-W – Due to an ongoing freight derailment inbound and outbound trains will be originating and terminating at West Chicago. An extra train will accommodate passengers between Elburn and Geneva.

The cause of the derailment remains under investigation, according to WGN-TV.
