21-year-old Rabiya Saifi who was a Civil Defence Officer was allegedly abducted, raped and murdered on August 27 in Delhi. The family alleges that there’s a large scale corruption going on in the Civil Defence department and Rabiya was aware of it. Family suspects a big conspiracy and alleges involvement of senior officials into the matter.
However, the family also informed that a person who also worked in Civil Defence has surrendered himself and is currently in Tihar jail. The person identified as Nizamuddin has claimed to be Rabiya’s husband. Rabiya’s family has denied his claims and said she was unmarried.
