An arrest caught on camera that led to a West Tennessee police officer being put on administrative leave has sparked questions about if officers went too far.
Police say the man arrested, 25-year-old Brandon Calloway, failed to stop at a stop sign and was driving 12 miles over the speed.
A compliant affidavit obtained from the Tennessee Attorney General’s Office alleges that Calloway refused to pull over until he turned into his driveway.
The affidavit continues to say that he then ran into his home ignoring police commands as another officer, identified as Officer Richardson, arrived on scene.
Police say, “Officers pursued and made entry by kicking in the front door.”
Police tased Calloway and hit him with a baton. Calloway’s girlfriend recorded a video of the arrest.
