Joe Biden resurged after his win in South Carolina and took frontrunner status after Super Tuesday. With many other candidates dropping out before Super Tuesday 1, Biden & Sanders remained in the race until Sanders dropped out on April 8, 2020. Then on June 6, 2020, all major news networks declared Joe Biden as the Presumptive Democratic Nominee securing the 1,991 Delegates needed to win the nomination. Joe Biden would then go on to defeat Donald Trump in the general election later that year.
