Georgia’s updated unemployment application online has some new questions for self-employed and others that can be confusing for us all. In this video I go over what you need to know and walkthrough some of the steps you’ll encounter.

Georgia updated it’s unemployment application tool to include questions for the “self-employed, gig workers, 1099 independent contractors, employees of churches, employees of non-profits, or those with limited work history who will not qualify for state unemployment benefits.”

Thanks to Pandemic Unemployment Assistance or PUA, now almost anyone who can’t work due to COVID-19 can apply and become eligible for unemployment benefits.

“NOTE: If you are unemployed for a COVID-19 related reason and determined to be eligible for benefits for this reason, then you will be exempt from meeting the registration and work search requirements until further notice.”
