Korean food is one of my favorite cuisines. It’s an explosion of flavors for my taste buds. Very different to what I am used to. I learned a few korean dishes since I’m in The Netherlands. This is the recipe I tried recently and loved it!
Sweet and Spicy crunchy tofu
(Dubu-gangjeong: 두부강정 is great for vegetarians and a delicious party menu!
It is crunchy, sweet and spicy. What is not to like???
Ingredients:
500g tofu
¼ cup cornstarch
¼ cup ketchup
¼ cup agave syrup
3 tbsp gochujang
Sesame seeds
Steps:
Tofu
1) Cut tofu into cubes
2) Put it in a ziplock bag
3) Add cornstarch and mix it well in the ziplock bag
4) Fry the tofu in hot oil
5) Once all sides of the tofu are deep yellow in color, take it out and cook the sauce
6) Double fry the tofu before adding it to the sauce to make it crunchy.
Sauce
1) Add agave syrup
2) Add ketchup
3) Add gochujang
4) Mix well and once the sauce thickens, add tofu
5) Coat well
6) Garnish with sesame seeds
This serves 4 pax
