New York Times Crossword, Tuesday 10/19/21
I like the theme content here, with some nice finds to find CHARLOTTE, EMILY, and ANNE all in reasonable phrases. Also interesting that they all appear in the possessive form with an ‘S following each. So two thumbs up for consistency. THEBRONTES is a bit uninspiring, but factually accurate for a revealer.

But for some reason I couldn’t quite get revved up and humming along in this puzzle. Might have just been the weird grid geometry. There’s also some amount of confusion because of all the other non-theme vertical long downs that are just as long as the themers. To me BETAAPP doesn’t sound like a thing that anybody really says, but maybe I’m wrong.

10s on the Mini and 2m53s on the daily puzzle. (Weekly running total: 5m55s)
