Latercase vs. Alibaba Case — Is This Unbox Therapy's iPhone Case? // Latercase Review

Lew from Unbox Therapy has recently released his Latercase and it has caused some controversy in the tech-sphere. Lew claimed that he “made” his own case made from “Authentic Kevlar” and has a nice carbon fiber weave design that was “hand-laid”. Some are claiming that he got his cases from Alibaba or Aliexpress and is just private labeling or re-selling them. So I went out and bought a case from Alibaba to see if the quality was similar to the Latercase by Lew from Unbox Therapy.

FRONTPAGETECH made a huge deal about this issue over on their channel, most of which Lew from Unbox Therapy responded to later over on his own channel.

Here’s a quote from Lew’s Latercase website for the Latercase for iPhone 11 Pro:
“Authentic Kevlar® fibers are hand-laid by skilled craftsmen, precision-formed to fit your iPhone 11 Pro, then laser-cut to perfection. Latercase is easy to put on, easy to take off, and coated with a durable matte finish that’s addictive to touch. Oh – and it’s just 0.6mm thin”

In this video we take a look at the Latercase versus a random Alibaba supplier to compare and contrast. I think the results might surprise you.

If you picked up one of Lew’s Unbox Therapy Latercases, let us know your thoughts on them and if you think his carbon fiber Latercases are worth it. And let us know what you think of this Latercase review!
