The National Rifle Association has announced it has filed for bankruptcy as part of a restructuring plan.
The group said the decision to file chapter 11 petitions in the United States Bankruptcy Court was not due to financial problems.
“You know that our opponents will try to seize upon this news and distort the truth,” the statement said.
“Don’t believe what you read from our enemies. The NRA is not ‘bankrupt’ or ‘going out of business.”
