Our Synology DS1515+ NAS died. It won’t turn on, the power button doesn’t seem to do anything, and the power supply still checks as OK with a PSU tester. Apparently, these units had a very common failure from dying power supplies, motherboards, or other lower level issues. Major concerns include saving the RAID and all the data (which will primarily save time, as we do have a lot of it backed up), but also moving to a more reliable box going forward. We found out that the Synology NAS power supply uses the same ATX 24-pin power cable as a computer power supply, and so used that troubleshooting option to replace the DS1515+ PSU with something else.
