Waltham Police are warning residents that people are being randomly attacked in the city.
They put out the warning via reverse 911 call on Thursday night.
Police say that eight men have been attacked in various parts of the city during the past two weeks.
The victims have been alone. Authorities indicated they have struck from behind or without provocation.
The attacks have all occurred between 5:30pm and 11:30pm.
Police have asked residents to be aware of their surroundings and avoid distractions when walking alone.
